A A R O N' S eyes glued shut; his head throbbed and the deep breathing of the demon seemed to muffle. He felt sharp claws graze his neck, but he felt no pain; the demon's claws retracted, its grip slowly loosened as Aaron fell to the ground.
He landed with a thud, his eyes still closed shut. He was afraid to face it, the creature that had changed the way he thought about the paranormal. At long last he heard Zak's feet back away slowly, the demon's gasps still acute to his ear. Time stood still as Aaron entered himself, retreating into the very depths of his mind.

He sighed as he threw his luggage on the floor upon entry. Nick followed close behind, dragging a suitcase full of heavy equipment.
Zak sat on the bed and watched Nick struggle with the luggage before sighing and taking a seat beside him.
"Bro, did you have to bring that stuff in?" Zak asked, poking fun at his best friend.
"Hey, this place is sketchy," Nick replied.
